Ad van Kuijk

Publisher Gregor Retkowski and Ad van Kuijk (nephew of Colonel Parker) present the latest Praytome Publishing book "My Years With Elvis And The Colonel" by author Charles Stone

The book "My Years with Elvis & The Colonel" premiers during ElvisMatters Event in Breda

The weekend to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Colonel's birthday is over. This event took place in Breda / The Netherlands, the hometown of Elvis Presley's manager. More than 11.000 visitors attended the event which was organized by Elvis Matters. (For more information about the event check www.colonelparker.info)

Members of the Praytome Publishing Team from Germany were invited to present the latest project, the book My Years With Elvis & The Colonel by author Charles Stone. This is definitively the very first book about "Elvis & The Colonel" that is written by a guy who was there. The storyline is based on Charles' memories, unlike previous Colonel books that were based on false assumptions and fabricated stories told by a third party.

We felt very honored when we were able to present the book to Ad van Kuijk, the nephew of Colonel Parker (see picture). A lot of people came to the booth of "Praytome Publishing" to have conversations with the members of the team and there were a lot of questions about upcoming projects, especially about the next product which is going to be the Multimedia Box Set "Dixieland Delight" by Bud Glass.

ElvisMatters also had invited author Sue McCasland from Las Vegas to talk about her Elvis' experiences. Sue attended more than 200 Elvis shows in the 1970's and also has been to the engagements at Lake Tahoe. Sue's second book entitled Elvis Presley live at Del Webb's Sahara Tahoe - World's Best Kept Secret was released in 2008 by Praytome Publishing. A lot of people kept her busy by asking and interviewing her about Elvis and of course people wanted to have her book signed. The book signing and the presentation of the new book by author Charles Stone were 2 out of 22 different activities during this 4day event.

June 29, 2009: Back in Germany, the packaging and mailing of the pre-orders startet. The team is looking forward to receive the first reactions and reviews which later will be made available online for you to read. In the same time we are also preparing the website for the new book so the information and content pages should be available soon.

The book will be on time for the Breda event, and fans can expect a high quality product -as always: a hardcover book with unreleased pictures allowing one an inside view of the memories of Elvis Presley's tour producer, Charles Stone.

Colonel Parker was a smart manager and naming one of Elvis' albums "Something For Everybody" was also a stroke of genius. The title not only fits the Elvis' LP, but also the content of the new book by Praytome Publishing: never-before-seen pictures, new information, new documents and paperwork, new inside views...

Today, we are happy to share with you the complete cover artwork. Below, is an image of how the back cover will look:
